The City Of Guilin
Guilin is a sub-tropical city that is located in southern China in the Guanxi Autonomous Region. To get to Guilin, you can take a 3-hour flight from Beijing. Guilin has inspired both painters and artists for centuries, as the landscape is gorgeous with misty green mountains and sparkling winding rivers. There is a popular saying that “Guilin’s scenery is best among all under heaven.” The area around the city has many limestone caves, and the most popular is the Reed Flute Cave. Near the city of Guilin is Yaohsan Mountain, which is the highest mountain in the region standing at 3,000 feet. There are cable car rides, which offer spectacular views of the summit below. From the cable car, you can also see the expanse of the mountain range below, as well as the lush green forests. At the top of the mountain, there are hiking trails and awe-inspiring panoramic views. Cruising The Li River

The boat will take you through towering Limestone Mountains, referred to as “Karst,” which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The site is made up of three clusters, which are Libo Karst, Shilin Karst, and Wulong Karst. UNESCO describes the South China Karst as "unrivalled in terms of the diversity of its karst features and landscapes.” The rock formations that you will see on the cruise have names such as Elephant Trunk Hill, Cockfighting Hill, and Embroidery Hill. Along the way, you can enjoy the scenery and stop in small towns on the river. South China travel is not complete without a visit to this gorgeous site, and there is no better way to see this amazing area than by a cruise down the Li River. If you stop on the eastern side of the river, you can check out Seven Stars Park. The name of the park is derived from the seven peaks of the park, which look like the Big Dipper.
